John W. Sleasman, MD, is division chief and the Robert A. Good Endowed Chair of Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He is also medical director of Children’s Research Institute Immunodiagnostics Laboratory at All Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sleasman received his medical degree at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and held post-graduate positions at Shands at the University of Florida and at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Sleasman is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Sleasman’s professional organizations include the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society for Pediatric Research. He serves on advisory committees for the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and the Immune Deficiency Foundation. He is also on the editorial board of Clinical and Diagnostic Immunology.
In 2007, Dr. Sleasman was selected as chairman of the AIDS immunology and pathogenesis studies for the Center for Scientific Review at the National Institutes of Health and was recognized as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connolly Medical Limited.
